Holidays and Entertaining

In South Louisiana, food and celebrations go hand in hand. From Mardi Gras and festival season to holiday parties and family gatherings, these recipes are made for sharing, showing up with, and putting on the table when people come over.

You’ll find party appetizers like Shrimp Deviled Eggs. Staples like Shrimp and Mirliton Dressing and Dirty Rice are must have for the holidays. Cajun Spatchcock Turkey is my favorite way to make juicy turkey for a crowd. When Mardi Gras rolls around, there’s King Cake, an iconic cinnamon dessert, or Boudin King Cake, a savory twist on the classic. These are the dishes that show up year after year because the celebration doesn’t feel complete without them.

These recipes are meant for full tables, loud kitchens, and occasions where the food is part of the reason everyone showed up in the first place.
