Ingredients

ground chuck, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, garlic, tomato paste, beef broth, seasonings, tomatoes

Roll the ground chuck into balls, lightly salt,  and sear on all sides in a preheated dutch oven. 

Break up the ground chuck, and sauté onions, bell peppers, jalapeño, and garlic with the beef. 

Add in beef base, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix well. 

Add in beef broth, diced tomatoes, and beans if using. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. 

Remove the cover and allow to reduce. Salt and pepper to taste.

Top with cheese, onions, sour cream, and a squeeze of lime juice.
